  • Institute of Geologists of Ireland - IGI was formed in 1999 in order to promote the geosciences in Ireland and to represent the professional interests of its members. Membership is open to all practising geoscientists who meet the required standards of qualification and experience, and the IGI operates with the support of all the major geoscience based technical societies.

  • Vedanta Resources plc - The Lisheen Mine - The Lisheen Mine is situated in county Tipperary in the heart of the Irish Midlands. The Lisheen Mine is wholly owned by Vedanta Resources plc, a world leader in mining.
  • Connemara Mining Company plc - Connemara Mining Company plc was established in 2006 by veterans of the Irish zinc industry to exploit zinc opportunities in Ireland and currently holds 33 prospecting licences throughout Ireland.
  • Boliden - Tara Mine - The Boliden Group operates mines and smelters in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Ireland. The Tara underground mine is Europe’s biggest zinc mine and the world’s fifth biggest. Tara’s products are zinc and lead concentrates, and the mine was acquired by Boliden in early 2004.
